Holy Land Trust is launching a final appeal effort to rebuild the home of Rizik Salah, a resident of the village of Al Khader in the West Bank whose family has endured two demolitions of their house and possessions since 1997.
All of our supporters and close friends are aware that we have experienced delays and setbacks with our efforts to rebuild the home of Rizik, Seaham and their six children, who have been deprived of their universal human right to live in peace and dignity in the home that they have built and rebuilt, in a community that is within the accepted boundaries of the Palestinian Territory of the West Bank, as Palestinians that deserve the same opportunities as any other people to secure a better future.
We are now approaching the winter, in which the Salah Family will spend their sixth consecutive year living in a two-room dwelling with Rizik’s mother. Holy Land Trust has worked with local contractors to procure construction materials while Rizik will organize a building team to finish the work that our Home Rebuilding Camp started in July.
With this new strategy, we have managed to cut costs, but we are still in need of financial donations to complete the home before the winter sets in.
• Contact your church, your favorite charity, or a group of concerned friends, and tell them about our project. Organize a viewing of our appeal video, and ask for donations to help us cover the cost of construction materials.
• Join our online fundraising campaign by posting links to this section of our website, our condensed Youtube video, and through joining our focus group at the Holy Land Trust Home Rebuilding Team on Facebook.
Make a difference today by helping the Salah Family get back on their feet. Join a worldwide movement to fight injustice and restore hope to those that deserve better.
