At Holy Land Trust, we are fully committed to nonviolence as a means of resisting and ending the Israeli occupation and oppression, and to creating a community structurally and spiritually founded on nonviolent principles. We respond to the needs of local communities because we believe that through nonviolent activism, we help transform communities by standing by them, showing solidarity, and giving them hope. We remain creative in our nonviolent activism, always adapting to the needs on the ground.
For over 20 years, Holy Land Trust has been a critical player in the local and global nonviolent movement to achieve peace and justice. We continually work across regional divisions, political lines, and international borders to unite voices demanding justice and equality for all. On the ground, we organize noncompliance campaigns, direct nonviolent actions, and global advocacy initiatives.
We have pioneered programs focused on personal sustainability and empowerment for activists within the movement. By leading and carving out a principled path to nonviolent activism in the Holy Land, we reframe the conversation away from the broken paradigm of “Israelis-vs-Palestinians.” Instead, we adopt a holistic approach that examines systems of oppression and links gender, race, class, and other forms of structural violence, ushering in new methods of equality.
