“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

– John 1:5

This Advent season , we from Holy Land Trust invite you to join us on a seven-week journey of giving — a path illumined by hope and compassion, reaching out to those who need our kindness the most. Bethlehem is breathing again. But many families still struggle for access to basic health services and warmth in the cold months ahead.

We have identified three urgent needs for the Bedouin Community of Umm Al-Kheir , in the South Hebron Hills (Area C) of the West Bank — and we believe that together, we can meet them. None of this is possible without you.

Mobile Clinic – $10,000 For years, four dedicated doctors travelled to the village of Umm Al-Kheir each week to check on patients. But examinations had to take place inside a city council office — a space with no privacy at all. Women, especially pregnant women and those needing sensitive check-ups, could not be examined comfortably or safely. With this fund we can re-establish medical services that bring privacy, dignity, and care directly to people’s doorsteps. For elderly parents, for children, for women — especially those unable to travel — this is more than medicine. It’s respect and a sign that someone sees them.

Basic Medical Supplies – $5,000 Bandages, medicines, first-aid kits, maternal-child health supplies for Umm Al-Kheir. These are not luxuries — they are essential. Your contribution means immediate relief, pain relief, and the strength for individuals to continue their daily lives with dignity.

Firewood – $500 per ton (35 tons needed) As cold winds approach, the households of Umm Al-Kheir face freezing nights. Providing firewood means warmth, security, and a sense of home in a season when every family should feel safe and cared for.

We believe in the power of community — in our shared responsibility to hold each other up. When you give, you are not just donating money; you are offering care, hope, and a tangible sign that we walk together.

This Advent, we are also sharing stories of those whose lives are touched by our work.

For this First Advent, we present Suad , a participant in the Generation to Generation program.

“When someone believes in you, you start believing in yourself. For me, this was the first light of Advent .”

Suad is the first young woman to ignite the Advent light within the Holy Land Trust community this year. Her courage and growth remind us why our mission matters — and why your support changes lives.

Will you help us restore health, dignity, and warmth this Christmas?

Please consider making a donation today. Share these letters with friends, family, and anyone who longs to make a real difference.

With gratitude and hopeful hearts ,

We, at Holy Land Trust

In Bethlehem, even the smallest act of kindness becomes a light. This season, let your light reach someone who needs it most.
